Session 77 - Forgive Us

Due to forgotten character sheets we had a sort of one-shot game in Edge.
Like last time I ran a one-shot, I'm just totaling up everything that everyone's characters earned and splitting it evenly between people who were there. That's fairish!

Also apologies for taking so long to get this out, it's extra long to make up for it!

Additionally, gaze upon this artwork drawn by our very own CHARLES depicting the goings on in the game session. Behold poor Dog the Goblin's unfortunate end. Oh he was so young.

Events:

- Cliffhanger! With the actual party facing uncertain doom in the black fortress, an unfortunate character sheet misplacement results in an Edge-based filler episode. (50 exp)
- A Necromancer, a Magic User, a Goblin, and a Specialist (Cat Burglar) are on a mission from a government official to steal back some very incriminating documents from a gang of thieves calling themselves the Tenebrous Hand. (50 exp)
- After snooping around a block of buildings owned by the thieves and discovering it ominously devoid of life, the Cat Burglar loudly ascends to the roof of the building. (50 exp)
- While the Necromancer distracts a man with a noise complaint, the Goblin and his buddy named Dog climb up a rope let down by the Cat Burglar. (50 exp)
- Dog shimmies down a chimney into the Potter's shop and sounds of breaking crockery are heard. The Goblin shimmies down after to stop him making a mess and piles unbroken ceramic loot by the door. (50 exp)
- After a bit of minor exploration, the Goblin opens said door to the street and lets everyone else in. Searching the upper bedrooms nets a bunch of loot, including a fancy sword. (50 exp)
- Going out the back door into the shared courtyard, the party check out a door that's slightly ajar and find themselves amongst the hanging meat in the back of the Butcher's shop. Dog is sent to explore. (50 exp)
- Amongst all the rotting meat is a horrible mutant dog thing! It attacks Dog (the goblin, not itself) before being handily dispatched. Dog finds himself with a rapidly mutating hand where the dog got him, but his master solves that easily via rapid amputation followed by addition of a knife tourniquet. (50 exp)
- The Carpenter's shop is explored next, revealing an upstairs area for training would-be gang members in combat and thievery, along with the rotting half-mutated corpse of a man who killed himself before he could turn. (50 exp)
- A long ladder is found by the window, long enough to reach across the alley to the upper storey of the next house. Tragedy strikes when Dog attempts to cross and, due to only having one hand now, falls off and decapitates himself on the wall directly below. (50 exp)
- Unfazed by the loss of their henchgoblin, the party search the upper floor and find a weird object oozing black goop in one of the bedrooms. It is carefully backed away from. (50 exp)
- Downstairs, everything seems fine except for the black ooze dripping from where it ate through the ceiling. The party leaves via the back door into the courtyard. (50 exp)
- A noise is heard and investigated inside another house, rangy emaciated dogs looking for food. They are distracted with rations and bypassed and the party heads upstairs, but not before someone scoops up a copy of a particularly tacky erotic novel from a table. (50 exp)
- A wizard shows up out of nowhere around this point. Some of the party know him from somewhere. He joins the group. (50 exp)
- Upstairs is a dead man who left a nice suicide note and a ring of keys. A convenient secret door into the Dog & Bastard inn is found and used. (50 exp)
- After exploring the pub and grabbing treasures from some of the rooms, a locked cellar door is found and unlocked and descended into, leading to a secret cellar. (50 exp)
- The cellar contains signs of recent bloody battle and a hastily erected barricade blocking one corridor. The barricade is, of course, dismantled a little, and the party goes in. (50 exp)
- Deeper inside is what is clearly the thieves' vault. Inside is movement and a strange smell. A table full of valuable stuff is quickly found and the party start grabbing whatever they can, including (phew!) the documents they needed. (50 exp)
- But no! Suddenly a bunch of horrible man-shaped mutant monsters are here! The party grab some last bits of stuff off the tables as they start to run, losing two of their number in the escape. (50 exp)
- The barricade is swiftly boarded up once more and the survivors emerge into the cold light of dawn somewhat the worse for wear. It is a pity that they did not solve the problem down there... (50 exp)
