Session 156 - Rock Smash!

I was sitting on this to give Charles a chance to do some more art attack, but he didn't get the opportunity! Oh well!

Another delve into the Barrowmaze brings more historical secrets, a big diamond, and an encounter with spoOOoOooOooky figures with strangly hands.

And this coming session, Halloween special!

See you soon!

- POWERLAD powerpunches the rubble monster!

Session 156 - Rock Smash!

Campaign Date:
Sunday, 7 November, 1600
Moon Phase: Third Quarter
Zodiac: Libra

New Characters:
-
Dan, the coalminer who is Galaxy Johnson's depowered Bruce Banner-esque alter ego during the full moon. An alien conspiracy theorist and UFO truther.

Enemies Defeated:
- A enormous rubble monster (1250 exp)
- Four terrifying cloaked figures (200 exp)
Total: 1450 exp

Treasure and Equipment:
- 20sp (20 exp)
- The diamond core of a rubble golem (10000sp)
Total: 10020 exp

Exploration:
- Traversed 10 dungeon rooms (200 exp)
- 3 wandering monsters rolled (150 exp)
- First party to enter Area 2 of the Barrowmaze, the Haunted Tombs (200 exp)
Total: 550 exp
Events:- The full moon rises above Helix, and with the waxing of the moon comes the waning of Galaxy Johnson. In his place... Dan. A miner who only remembers flashes of the past month. (50 exp)
- "We can uhhh... wait a day until your powers come back" say Nix and POWERLAD, but Dan's having none of it. Dan's good enough, he says! Dan can do it! He doesn't need some alien soul possessing him to be useful! Plus it'll be such a meme! (50 exp)
- Coalminer Dan is joined by Relford, a retainer who followed Zena for a while. Though he has no trust in his new employer, Relford will do it for the money. (50 exp)
- Dan has heard that a nice cup of tea counteracts fear, so he bums loose change off POWERLAD to buy some off Spicy Mac. Delish. (50 exp)
- Cardinal Scream is watching from several rooftops, and gives the party a mission should they choose to accept it. Take a wagonwheel with occult symbols into the Chaos Sephulchre of the Elements, it's important to him. (50 exp)
- When asked how to tell where the Chaos Sephulchre is, he says the walls have got a bunch of different dragons all over them. He doesn't know how to get there though. (50 exp)
- There is also talk of a big group of displaced Halfling refugees moving through the scraggly forest near Helix, with hints of a spoOOoOOooOky halloween special if it's investigated. (50 exp)
- Deciding to save that for real life Halloween, the party head off in Grim Charlie's wagon. To the Barrowmaze it is! (50 exp)
- As soon as the wagon parks up, the party jump off into the mud and squelch towards the main entrance. It's chilly. (50 exp)
- Steps are retraced with a view to following the map all the way to the certain doom marked at the end. Nice. The trip is uneventful until they open a door into a pillar room, and see many snakes swarming away from the light. (50 exp)
- The party debate what to do, and hear much hissing. Soon, a snake made up of many many snakes can be seen approaching from the dark. Each snake is biting another snake's tail, a long rope of snake leading to a human skull held in many fanged mouths. (50 exp)
- They shut the door. (50 exp)
- After a time, the hissing around the door stops. In the mean time, Relford has run off. Damn you Relford! (50 exp)
- Fuck it, they pound the door open and sprint through the room! Luckily the snakes aren't interested, and the party get through no worries. (50 exp)
- "What abouit the way back?" POWERLAD asks. He doesn't get any good replies. (50 exp)
- A muffled cry is heard as the party continue, and POWERLAD has too much of a hero complex to ignore it! He kicks open the door, revealing some sort of temple! (50 exp)
- The centrepiece of the temple is a large statue showing a great tentacle and a great silver dragon with a rune for a face locked in deadly combat. In front of this is a pit, from which an arguably Scottish voice yells for help. (50 exp)
- POWERLAD peers over the lip, and sees a classic Dwarf at the bottom! Great big bushy beard and everything! Dan's 50 inch... wait... 50 foot rope is lowered into the pit, and he climbs out. (50 exp)

Inline images 1

- His name is Randy Cobblestone, he was abandoned by his crew, and he feels great shame for breaking open a lorebond in order to not die in a hole. He is easily persuaded to join the party, as long as they can help him get out. (50 exp)
- They continue, and Randy is briefed on basic runecasting. "I've already damned my soul once, might as well do it again", he says. As a Dwarf he's better at it anyway. (50 exp)
- As the group travels through that rubble-strewn room they were ambushed in before, the rubble itself starts vibrating together. A hand begins to form, and as it does so Dan blasts a magma glyph at it! (50 exp)
- The molten rock just kind of spatters onto the slowly forming humanoid shape, even becoming absorbed into the rubble monster's body. (50 exp)

Inline images 2

- A hand slams down, and the other swings round to smack Dan backwards into the wall with a grinding roar. He's already onto Pain tokens, poor lad.
- Randy grabs Dan under the arms and drags him out of the line of fire, it moves slowly, but POWERLAD spots the huge chunk of diamond it has within the rocky head. He wants that diamond! (50 exp)
- Combat is joined when POWERLAD rushes in with a brutal Magic Missile Punch, blasting chunks of its body away only for them to swirl back in. It already seems to be losing cohesion! (50 exp)
- Nix slides in and Dan beams a Size glyph at her, boosting her size and power! Her fists barely damage the stone behemoth. (50 exp)
- Dan, realising that he's close to passing out, passes his Size Beam glyph off to Randy and tries to keep breathing. Randy, for his part, misses with the beam. (50 exp)
- The constant degrow regrow means Nix is having a very hard time hitting this thing, while POWERLAD's hammers seem to be having some effect. (50 exp)
- Nix goes for a big d30 PUNCHU and hits it, but it reformats in her direction and smashes her into the wall, leaving a Nix-shaped dent. (50 exp)
- While it's distracted, POWERLAD curls his hand into a fist, focuses arcane energies, and swaps a spell into another Magic Missile PUNNNNCH! It's a straight up 18 on 3d6, the perfect spell swap! Straight to the weak point for massive damage! (50 exp)
- The rock monster explodes, spraying out rock and rubble and pelting Nix. The chunk of diamond in its head falls straight down, and POWERLAD catches it effortlessly. What a pro. (50 exp)

Inline images 3

- With Dan in a very bad way, it's time to take stock. POWERLAD and Nix say that it would be annoying to turn back now in the exact same room they turned back from last time. (50 exp)
- With some food and some light bandaging, Dan is back on his feet! They continue to follow the map into darkness. (50 exp)
- Suspecting a trap due to the map, the team find a trap! Another cantilevered pit trap, obscured by the now-familiar ankle-height fog, is easily spiked shut. (50 exp)
- The next door opens onto a wide corridor! Battle sounds come from the end of the corridor, where two groups of Necromancers wage battle. One group has maces and mail, the other half-skull masks. They fight by proxy, letting their Dead do the real fighting. (50 exp)
- On the walls of the corridor, friezes depict tentacles surrounded by robed figures being sent back into the ground. The backgrounds change, but the ritual and tentacle are the same. (50 exp)
- Ducking through a door and sneaking around the Necromancer battle, a group of looters making their way to the entrance approach unwittingly. (50 exp)
- They are startled to see the party, and are super grateful for information about the rubble golem and snake monster. One of them offers his pouch of 20 silver in gratitude. (50 exp)
- Another one recognises Dan, who declares that he's Galaxy Johnson not Dan. The guy who collapsed the artisanal mine? Not me! The looters move off, with thanks. (50 exp)
- Meanwhile, down the corridor, the battle is over! Two half-skull-mask Necromancers and a very beaten up skeleton whoop and laugh about their victory! (50 exp)
- They're Tomb Crows, scions of Cardinal Scream, and their enemies were the Ancients. They're stoked, and leave after a short conversation. One of them clubs the skeleton over the head, destroying it, as he leaves. (50 exp)
- The map leads to... nowhere. A secret door maybe? Some tapping reveals the door, but also draws the attention of some black-robed skeletal Dead! They burst through the secret door from the other side, and the party forms up into battle lines. (50 exp)
- Nix and POWERLAD are the first to move, smashing two of them. Weirdly, their corporeal forms blast off into powder, and their skulls drop down through the ground. Soon, the white of the top of their skull clips up through the floor. Very strange. (50 exp)
- POWERLAD is grabbed by one of them, and its terrible cold grip closes around his neck! POWERLAD is being choked out! (50 exp)
- Randy's glyph goes off and enlarges Nix, Dan blasts a magma blob at the skull mound in case something comes of it. Good thinking! Within moments, the skull bursts from the ground cackling madly, reforming its body, and exuding primal fear! (50 exp)

Inline images 4

- Dan trembles in his boots, but the magma does its job swiftly and the reborn skeletal figure burns to a crisp. (50 exp)
- POWERLAD's vision begins to glaze over and he falls to his knees, cold dead hands still locked around his neck, until Nix cannons into it with a devastating swing! The creature crumbles, and its hands unlock from POWERLAD's throat. (50 exp)
- The last floor-skull rises up with visions of childhood fears long forgotten and a scream like nails down a chalkboard, terror grips most of the party. But fighting their fear, Nix and POWERLAD's fists make short work of it and it finally falls. (50 exp)
- In the darkness of the dungeon, the party eats some rations and drinks some tea to get over their terror. It seems to work! (50 exp)
- They flee the dungeon, sprinting through the snake room before they can form up into their big ol' snake form, and make their way out into the cold light of day. Nice! (50 exp)
- On Grim Charlie's wagon on the way back, Randy tells the party the names of the guys who betrayed him - Gavin and Sven. If he finds them, he's gonna kill them! (50 exp)

Session 155 - Barbarian Nights

It's a return to the Barrowmaze! After spending a while rooting around in pre-plundered barrows, the crew descends and follows a remarkably accurate map before running out of time.
New arrivals "Elf Barbarian" and an actual Barbarian turn the team into brutal hand to hand combat unit against enemies whose only crime was rolling poorly and also attempted murder.

Looks like the map was fairly accurate though, so maybe next time we'll see the danger zone itself?? How excite!
Or more likely, since it's halloween, something spooky will happen...

Session 155 - Barbarian Nights

Campaign Date:
Last Day, 30 October, 1600
Moon Phase: Full
Zodiac: Virgo

New Characters:
- Bjorn Gunnerson, a huge Barbarian and scholar. Knows many languages.
- Loki Axefuck, maybe-transgender definitely trans-Barbarian Elf, bad at speaking which is ironic for an Elf whose heartspell is Message.

Enemies Defeated:
- A couple of big toads (50 exp)
- An innocent skeleton (10 exp)
- 8 foolish ambushers (80 exp)
Total: 140 exp

Treasure and Equipment:
- 2 tarnished silver candle holders (100 exp)
- A tarnished silver ring (50 exp)
- 30gp, 30sp, 1300cp (1660 exp)
- A pair of silver earrings (500 exp)
- Q3 Silver-veined iron dagger
- Book key
Total: 2310 exp

Exploration:- Explored 2 barrows (40 exp)
- Explored 10 dungeon rooms (200 exp)- 3 wandering monsters rolled (150 exp)
Total: 390 exp

Events:
- After meeting new arrivals Bjorn and Loki, waiting around for POWERLAD and Zena's stat damage to return, and witnessing Loki spending a month researching a spell that mirrors Barbarian rage, the group heads off to the Barrowmoor. They have a map, and just need to work out where it starts from. (50 exp)
- But first, scrounging! They head towards a plundered barrow and find it filled with grimy water and pond scum. (50 exp)
- Wading in, POWERLAD is assailed by a slippery flippy floppy tongue! Beneath the murk are a couple of massive toads. (50 exp)
- It's no big deal though. POWERLAD manages to get one in a full nelson and tie its tongue in a knot, while Bjorn shanks another one with a letter opener. Too easy! (50 exp)
- The Take-Light-Cold glyph trick is done again, sucking up all the water in the room and conveniently revealing a couple of silver candlesticks that whoever originally looted this tomb must have missed! Score! (50 exp)
- With nothing else of note to be found, the group decide to scrounge in another plundered barrow. At the entrance there's a skeleton hanging around. It goes to move off, but POWERLAD is too fast and smashes it with hammers! Skeleton is kill. (50 exp)

Inline images 1

- A smashed-in sarcophagus is within, and a thorough search reveals a silver ring that had rolled into a crack in the floor. Not a bad little haul really! (50 exp)
- After spending the morning mooching around pre-plundered barrows, Bjorn is getting restless. Down into the dungeon proper it is! (50 exp)
- Nix complains about proper mapping as everyone else charges on straight, following the map towards the area marked "CERTAIN DOOM!". Classic. The map seems mostly accurate though, so there's that! (50 exp)

Inline images 2

- A series of rooms go by uneventfully, eventually passing an alcove containing a pretty slick silver-veined iron dagger. Loki tries to pick it up, but the cold iron BURNS her elvish flesh! Bjorn grabs it gleefully. (50 exp)
- A relief of a silver-scaled dragon getting murdered by hordes of skeletons is seen, instead of eyes it has a strange new X-shaped rune on its face! (50 exp)

Inline images 3

- Nix immediately tries using it in a glyph, but though it takes her energy nothing happens. POWERLAD theorises that the death of the dragon meant that its rune became inert. (50 exp)
- A red-eyed super zombie is seen, but it flees cackling before it can be killed. (50 exp)
- While walking through a room piled with filth, Galaxy Johnson is shot in the leg by a crossbow bolt! He turns and throws his torch into the middle of the room, revealing several shady guys hurriedly reloading. (50 exp)
- Shield formation! Everyone locks in to PROTECC Galaxy Johnson while POWERLAD bursts forward to ATTACC. A hidden killer takes a swipe with a knife to no avail. (50 exp)
- Loki finishes casting ELF RAGE and he slides in with a double-evisceration gambit. What a move! The crowd goes wild. (50 exp)

Inline images 4

- Galaxy Johnson is in trouble, quietly bleeding out in the corner. He's close to death! (50 exp)
- The side effect of Elf Rage is retaliatory Chaos Bursts, and his attacker turns out to be an old friend in a puff of magic. You've changed, man. (50 exp)
- Loki's rage runs out, to snide remarks about how long she lasts in battle from Nix. A knife-wielding looter takes the opportunity to attack, but fails miserably. (50 exp)
- The surviving looters give up and try to surrender and explain themselves. They have their helmets nicked by the party and run off before Loki can persuade everyone else to let him murder them. (50 exp)
- Nix boots up a healing glyph, temporarily stemming Galaxy Johnson's bleeding. Phew! (50 exp)
- While Nix keeps the heal on, the room is searched. Stashed gold in the rubble left by the fleeing tomb robbers! Excellent! And a key whose end is shaped like a book. Mysterious. (50 exp)

Inline images 5

- The party bail back to the surface, luckily facing no opposition on the way out. Upon reaching Helix, new party physician Eleanor rushes out to nurse Galaxy Johnson back to health. A successful day out! (50 exp)
- With Galaxy Johnson back on his feet, it's time to party! With multiple Barbarians, it's sure to be a good time. (50 exp)
- Four days of carousing later, Bjorn wakes up with all of his stuff stolen. Damn! Loki is the life of the party with unfortunate consequences - carousing costs double for her in this town from now on. (50 exp)
- A strange mood settles upon the already pretty spooky town... Halloween is upon us! (50 exp)

Session 154 - Race for the Cure

With three PCs down and no high level Cleric in sight, the race for a bunch of new level 1 characters to find a cure for the horrendous Pudding Affliction!

Bertha's sordid past is definitely one of my favourite bits of emergent narrative yet. All the great emotional character stuff seems to happen to Kitty!
On that note: Attached to this very email is a super secret page from Bertha's super secret diary. Thank goodness POWERLAD's on his way back to health, I don't think I could handle it if he died!

With the disease cured, will we see the return of Zena and co? Or will newcomers like Galaxy Johnson stick around to see how they do? Find out next time!!

Session 154 - Race for the Cure

Campaign Date:
Monday, 14 October, 1600
Moon Phase: Waning Crescent
Zodiac: Virgo

New Characters:
- Bertha, POWERLAD's wife, is a PC now! She has a secret former life... and she's a Necromancer now.
- Galaxy Johnson, an Alpdrucke from the nearby old ruins who is the host for an alien soul
- Tippin, a Dickensian orphan ratboy who fled his exploitative human master
- Larry's Legends, a group of out-of-work Knacker Extras in search of a cause

Enemies Defeated:
- A couple of skin-kites (20 exp)
Total: 20 exp

Treasure and Equipment:
- A fairly uninspiring gem (10 exp)
- A cure for the pudding affliction!
Total: 10 exp

Exploration:-  30 or so miles of travel (100 exp)- 2 random encounters (100 exp)
- First party to visit Treehole (100 exp)
- First party to visit Fondle (100 exp)
- First party to visit Fatknob (100 exp)
Total: 500 exp

Events:
- POWERLAD, Zena and Borodin are feverish wrecks, and to everyone's dismay Carrie Meleste is out of town. It's up to Bertha and a ragtag group of ne'redowells to find a doctor before it's too late! (50 exp)
- Since Bertha is getting upgraded to a perspective character, we suddenly get insight into her past. As she collects the makeup kit and brass knuckles of her former life, we discover that Bertha is an ex-prostitute. Needless to say, POWERLAD doesn't know. (50 exp)

Inline images 2
- After hitting up Spicy Mac's in search of healing herbs (pretty much oregano etc) the crew heads off towards the closest village of Treehole. (50 exp)
- Indeed, the trees as they approach all have holes bored through their centres. Cheers can be heard, and as the party approach they see a large crowd gathered around the church. (50 exp)
- Larry's Legend ask the crowd what's going on. It's the big football match against Fatknob! One of those OG football matches where everyone from one town tries to get a football to another town. (50 exp)
- In between the two villages is Fondle, who are the site of the de facto midfield. The ball is there somewhere. Sometimes they try to hide it so the game can't happen, sometimes they just leave it out in the hopes the game passes through no problem. Either way their town gets trashed. (50 exp)
- The church bell rings, and the game is on! The mob of players starts running towards Fondle, cheered on by their families on rooftops! But horrifyingly, as they clear the edge of the forest, skin kites can be seen wafting through the air. (50 exp)

- Screams and yells greet the sight, some picking up the pace and others hanging back. Right near the party, two kites have descended on unlucky runners. (50 exp)
- One has managed to get caught up in the branches of a fallen tree. Bertha takes it out with a clean hit from POWERLAD's crossbow. He'd be so proud. (50 exp)
- As she goes over to help the partially skinned victim, Larry's Legends sprint in and burn it back with torches. To their dismay, the skin kite does not die and instead reaps a bunch of skin from the Extras, even after Relford the Retainer heaves in with an ineffective hammer. (50 exp)
- The Legends finish it off, but it's too late for the skinless victim. Alas. (50 exp)
- Bertha reaches the other victim, an old lady called Beryl, and inspects her partially skinned hand. It looks bad, but Larry's Legends spit on it with their surprisingly effective First Aid spit. (50 exp)
- Galaxy Johnson searches the other body and finds a mildly valuable gem. He is triggered due to its similarities to the rock that gave him a split personality and chucks it, but luckily an Extra is there to grab it before it hits the ground. (50 exp)
- Beryl knows of a doctor in Fiskit and offers to lead the party there. Unfortunately the football game has reached Fondle and is now heading back in the party's direction! The group hurriedly move out of the way and go country to avoid the game. (50 exp)
- As they crest a hill on the approach to the road, the party witness an army contingent bearing down on a band of Necromancers! At their head, a Cleric who is berating a black-robed figure on a skeletal horse. (50 exp)
- The party jog in with Bertha at the head, asking what's going on here. It seems the Necromancers have come too far south and breached a boundary somewhere. The Necromancer says he didn't realise he'd already crossed the border. Argue argue argue. (50 exp)
- Bertha does an absolutely amazing diplomatic job, talking the Cleric down and arguing that it was clearly an honest mistake and there are more pressing issues in the football game to the south. (50 exp)
- The Cleric comes round, mollified by Necromancer's promises to leave for the Dead Zone immediately, and takes her troops to break up the stupid football game. (50 exp)
- In thanks, the Necromancer force offers Bertha a skeletal horse. Unfortunately she's not strong enough to control it yet! But he does tell Bertha to give them his name in Necropolis if she ever wants to requisition supplies or skeleton horses. (50 exp)
- Finally, as the day draws long, the party make it to Fiskit. It's a rather steep seaside town, and out to sea the tops of sunken spires can be seen thrusting above the waves. And of course, sea salties are being sold all along the main streets by raggedy saltie-sellers. (50 exp)

Inline images 4

- Beryl leads everyone to the doctor's practice she's heard about. The doctor is called Elenor, and her shop is full of strange incense and leeches and other weird early doctory stuff. (50 exp)
- She salves Beryl's hand, and says that she specialises in the treatment of diseases. Convenient! The party scrape together enough money to pay for her services for the next three days, with the promise that there'll be more in Helix when they get there, and she agrees to join them. (50 exp)
- She also lets the party stay overnight, since it's getting late. They head out the following morning bright and early. (50 exp)
- On the way back, they head through Fatknob. The despondent locals tell them that they lost the football match, and that the cops tried to break up the game. (50 exp)
- Continuing on, after an hour or so of walking some drag marks are seen going off the side of the road into a small copse. Investigation is broken off when the awful smell and yellowish slime of ghouls is found. Fuck that. (50 exp)
- As they go through Treehole, Larry and his Legends drop Beryl off back at her house, and impose long enough for her to make them all tea. (50 exp)
- Finally, after a good few hours walking, the party make it back to Helix! Hooray! In their absence, Zena and POWERLAD have been wasting away to fever. (50 exp)
- The doctor is in! She diagnoses and thinks she knows a cure. It involves smearing the blood-honey from the spore crazed bees in the Quenchless Mouth of Many over their naked bodies, then passing flames above them until the honey is dry and cracked. The disease will flake away with the honey. (50 exp)
- "Uh fuck yea do that" says Bertha. Dr Elenor disappears off for a little while, and comes back with pots of red honey. A nailbiting series of boosted rolls results in nothing less than a total cure for POWERLAD, Zena, and even Borodin! What a result! (50 exp)

Inline images 5

- Thanks Eleanor profusely for her lifesaving treatment, POWERLAD and Bertha set her up with a new business in Helix to be their on-call doctor. Honey Healing is here! It'll lose a Physician's monthly wage each month (so keep topping it up) but this way the business will help subsidise! (50 exp)

Session 153 - Mental, Elf, Crisis

Campaign Date:
Monday, 8 October, 1600
Moon Phase: Third Quarter
Zodiac: Virgo

New Characters:
- Borodin, a Cleric who's been out of the adventuring game for over 50 years, back in the game after a wild drunken bender for a special appearance!
- Ratimir, a totally-not-Russian Ratman (aka Blyatman) furrier who answered Zena's ad for an adventuring ratman retainer.
- Meteor Power Shower, a Barbarian bowyer who claims to be a Magma Hun.

New Backstory:
- Borodin, original name Buttshine, retired from adventuring to be a successful dog breeder. His drinking habit eventually led to his god Brodin telling him to change his name and head to Helix, a plan which went off without a hitch. (Once per session, one planned action goes off without a hitch!)
- Zena was once captured by demons and at their mercy, luckily a rat helped chew through her bonds and she took the opportunity to escape! (No chance of passing out from Pain while fleeing)
- POWERLAD's parents' crossbow-making trade was under threat from a devious tax collector bent on putting them out of business. POWERLAD, naturally, joined the resistance! (Once per session, you can find a defector in the room)
- Chiffon disappointed everyone by doing something he had sworn never to do.... wear socks with sandals. (Once per session you can automatically pass an attack, save and/or skill roll. Once each. For the rest of the session you get -2 to that type of roll.)
- Insanity Mammoth was looting a church for its sweet architecturally and historically valuable architecture when the entire steeple fell on him and broke all of his bones except for the all-important collarbones. He lay there for weeks, subsisting only on the woodlice and grubs that crawled near his broken-jawed mouth. (Once per session, survive the results of a cataclysmic failure)

Enemies Defeated:
- A superleech!!! (750 exp)
- A gang of mongreloids (50 exp)
- A powerful and disease-ridden 'pudding' (750 exp)
Total: 1550 exp

Treasure and Equipment:
- 101gp (5050 exp)
- A map
-1001cp (101 exp)
Total: 5151 exp

Exploration:- Explored 8 dungeon rooms (160 exp)- 1 Wandering Monster rolled (50 exp)
Total: 210 exp

Events:
- In the town square, the party pay the town crier to drum up some hirelings. Success! (50 exp)
- Zena is disappointed that no ratmen showed up yet, and hires a single man-at-arms to help with the murders. (50 exp)
- Insanity Mammoth is still too much of a burns victim to gain HP, but he's somehow acquired a wheelchair and hires a wheelchair-pusher for his ill-advised foray into the Barrowmaze. (50 exp)
- Joining the group today is Boradin, a Nonanist Cleric who follows the party god Brodin. Carousing is discussed before it is decided that they'll just party when they get back. (50 exp)
- A series of 666 crows descends upon Spicy Mac's shop and requests that someone clear out 3 rooms in Area 3 of the Barrowmaze in exchange for 1001cp. "We were going there anyway" says the party.
- Everyone pays Grim Charlie his silver to let them fast travel, and the group heads to the Barrowmoor. Insanity Mammoth's wheelchair, presumably, rumbles along behind. (50 exp)
- At the Barrows, Insanity Mammoth tries to exort his fellow adventurers to help him loot the actual physical dungeon and its actual physical architecture. Chiffon's not having any of it. (50 exp)
- They enter the previously excavated barrow and briefly attempt to remove the hot plate from the lower chamber. Chisels result in boiling steam spurting out. (50 exp)
- The mysterious fog fills the room, possibly unrelated, and brings with it fatigue. The party are forced to rest for ten minutes to get back to strength. (50 exp)
- They head for the dungeon proper and Insanity Mammoth complains about the lack of handicapped accessibility in this dungeon as he's manhandled down the stairs. Great point. (50 exp)
- The door into the infamous leech room is opened... and a great big leech is revealed squatting in the pool of water. Insanity Mammoth decides to ignore it and go around the edge of the room. (50 exp)
Insanity Mammoth shoots his new mighty bow at it from the wheelchair. BAD IDEA! The leech lunges and stretches reeaaal long! Luckily it goes for his disability assistant who begins getting drained! (50 exp)

Inline images 1

- POWERLAD misses with his crossbow and is mildly embarrassed, Zena swaps electricity for fire on her halberd, Borodin charges a Magma Beam. (50 exp)
- Together, the fire makes the great leech release its bloodsucking grip on John the Disability Attendant and the magma solidifies on its body making it fall back into the pool. (50 exp)
- It sinks, and Zena finishes it off by sticking the electric-glyph end of her halberd into the water, frying that sucker. (50 exp)
- They continue to explore. A room with a mural like cloaked figures walking clockwise around a spiral on the floor is found. POWERLAD walks clockwise and reveals it to be a cool optical illusion where the spiral retracts into darkness like it's disappearing into a pit.. (50 exp)
- Insanity Mammoth continues trying to persuade the party that they should loot the very walls of the dungeon, starting with this mural. Fog rolls past everyone's ankles and fatigue sets in again. (50 exp)
- After further rest, some doors are inspected. One has the electric trap from last session, and POWERLAD discovers he takes half damage from electricity AND can use the other half to boost the damage of his next punch. (50 exp)
- The other room has a slime trail where something plopped off the ceiling and crawled into a hole. Borodin magma-beams it and fries it good. (50 exp)
- There's a weird shitty bathroom in a tiny room. Borodin takes the opportunity to relieve himself, but awkwardly the toilet doesn't flush. (50 exp)
- Insanity Mammoth's wheelchair thumps over a pit trap. He makes John shove him forward so he crashes into the edge of a corridor on the other side. John follows sheepishly. (50 exp)
- Unfortunately Nix is just a step behind and triggers the trap! She falls 20' but is fairly ok.  She's pulled out with a rope and the slowly-closing lid is spiked shut. Insanity Mammoth also creates a dirt ramp. (50 exp)

Inline images 2

Ahead, he hears muffled voices questioning the noise. He wheels around the corner and sees some of the mismatched animal body part Mongreloids at the other end of the room! They flee as he charges in his wheelchair! (50 exp)
- Thwarted, Insanity Mammoth looks around. There is a pit in this room, and a lingering sweetness. (50 exp)
- POWERLAD is tied to a rope and lowered into the pit. He is struck by the sleep-inducing spores exuded by the purple moss but keeps his head, blinking through drowsy eyes at a couple of man-sized lumps under the thick growth. (50 exp)
- He gets himself raised back up and activates a Take-Light-Earth glyph. The spores are sucked into the runes, allowing him to touch down at the bottom and investigate the bodies. Moss grows up his legs, but no quick enough. (50 exp)

Inline images 3

- POWERLAD claims a bunch of gold and a map that shows a route to "the Pit" with a warning not to go there! Sweet! (50 exp)
- Chiffon summons a a ghostly bouncer to let him through a locked door, who obliges after checking him and his mates off the ghostly guest list. (50 exp)
Inline images 4

- A wall of stench billows through the opened door. Inside, a gloopy stinky ooze has schlooped over a body which it is slowly digesting! (50 exp)
- Insanity Mammoth yells CHARGE! John the attendant wheels him in at ramming speed, hits a bump, and sends the barbarian flying towards the ooze with axe held high! (50 exp)
- He slams in, a spray of awful pus splurts from the wound and grants him a terrible disease, and Insanity Mammoth's uncanny luck sends him sliding all the way out of the room to the edge of the purple moss pit. (50 exp)
- POWERLAD is a pro and tosses a lantern in... but for the first time in a long time purging with flaming oil has a worse effect! The fire boils the goop, and acrid clouds of virulent disease blast through the room before POWERLAD can close the door! (50 exp)
- John the disability attendant doesn't stand a fucking chance. He dies in the corner, not that anybody remembers he was there. (50 exp)
- Nix and Zena pull emergency mould masks over their mouths, activating the Take Plant runes on the front. Safety from disease! (50 exp)
- Chiffon slides towards the unconscious bulk of Insanity Mammoth and sweeps him into the sleepy moss pit, saving him from the ooze. What a save! (50 exp)
- Meanwhile the blob advances on Zena and Nix as they drag the unconscious and feverish POWERLAD from out of harm's way. (50 exp)
- Borodin, meanwhile, fights through the fever burning through his veins and sprints away,
- Zena jumps in front, taking the hit. It slams her hard with a blobby protuberance, knocking the wind out of her and disabling her spore mask. Her next shuddering breath draws in the disease cloud and the pox spreads through her system. (50 exp)
- Down the hole, Chiffon first aids Insanity Mammoth back to consciousness. He starts dragging himself up the rope (still tied to the battered wheelchair in the gloop's original room) and activates RAGE as soon as he starts losing consciousness! (50 exp)
- He crests the lip on burnt-to-fuck legs and "angrily" looses an arrow towards the glop, following up with an instakill gambit to take it out of the fight! (50 exp)
- His blood-maddened eyes turn on Zena and Nix, but before he can murder all his friends, Chiffon saves the day AGAIN by tackling Insanity Mammoth into the pit AGAIN. (50 exp)
- Insanity Mammoth lands on a spike... and he's not happy about it. Chiffon tries to cast Spiderclimb to escape, but Insanity Mammoth's flailing disrupts the spell! The chaos burst turns Chiffon chartreuse, and deludes him into thinking his long lost brother is one of the corpses. (50 exp)
- Crying out he starts digging, only for Insanity Mammoth to cleave through one of his arms at the elbow! (50 exp)
- Chiffon angrily slices at the raging barbarian, slicing the top of his head clean off... but Insanity Mammoth's twitching corpse manages to slice Chiffon's other arm off before finally collapsing. (50 exp)
- Chiffon dies, spurting blood from both sides, leaving a perfect Mark Rothko on each side of the pit with his lifeblood. (50 exp)

Inline images 6

- Hearing the savage sounds and following silence, Nix begins dragging the unconscious and feverish bodies of her friends out of the dungeon. Exhausted, she pays Grim Charlie the travel costs and collapses in the back covered in blood and stench. (50 exp)
- On the way back, her diseased compatriots fall into a coma. Worried, Nix dumps them in the cheapest inn room she can find and retires to her own lavish suite. Bertha, POWERLAD's loving wife, does her best to try to wake her comatose husband from his fever to no avail. (50 exp)
- She falls back onto the fluffy perfumed pillows of her room's four-poster and, concern for her fellow party member paramount in her mind, opens her book on Disease. Will rune magic assist in curing them? Yes, it says. (50 exp)
- Meanwhile, Ratimir the Ratman enquires after Zena's job offer, and Meteor Power Shower the Magma Hun shows up in town. (50 exp)
- "Fuck I hope Andy's here next week", say all. (50 exp)
